The 2015 Hwaseong Temporary Palace Regular Performance begins






On April 4, the opening performance for Hwaseong Temporary Palace’s Regular Performance gets under way at the Hwaseong Temporary Palace plaza.
Glamorous processions to cemeteries of the Joseon Dynasty, martial arts from the Joseon era, Taekwondo performances and various other traditional performances will be on offer at the opening event.
Beginning with the opening performance, the 2015 Hwaseong Temporary Palace Regular Performance will have the Saturday permanent performances and the Jangyongyeong guards ceremony on Saturdays and Sundays respectively at 2pm until October.


30th March 2015, opening ceremony for the Suwon-si Traditional Dietary Life Experience Hall and Courtesy Education Hall







At 2:30pm on March 30, an opening ceremony took place for the Traditional Dietary Life Experience Hall and Courtesy Education Hall established by Suwon-si, aimed at promoting our traditional culture and improving our tourism infrastructure.
The Traditional Dietary Life Experience Hall aspires to become the best place involved with traditional dietary life. It offers not only activities to experience the traditional food culture of Korea through menus such as traditional dishes, royal cuisine, environmentally friendly food, and Suwon ribs, but also dietary life education, research, educational exhibitions, supply, and sales.
Meanwhile, the Courtesy education hall will offer an opportunity to experience our traditional culture belonging to various social classes through tailor-made courtesy education and experience programs based on Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, King Jeongjo the Great’s love for the people, the principle of practical science, and filial duty.

Suwon Hwaseong Fortress Bicycle Rental Shop

We run a bicycle rental shop at the World Heritage Site Suwon Hwaseong Fortress for people to tour the whole area on an environmentally friendly method of transportation.







Bicycle rentl shops are available at 4 locations in the Hwaseong Temporary Palace; the plaza, the Yeonmudae, Hwaseomun, and Janganmun, and both adult and children's bikes are available.

The shops will be open until November 2015 from 9a.m. until 6p.m. Tuesday to Sunday, closed on Monday.
With your passport and a simple registration form to confirm your identity, you can rent a bicycle easily.
The rental price is 1,000 Won. (A guardian's consent is required for children aged 8 or younger)
Bicycles must be returned to the same shop they were rented from. (Before 6p.m.)
Please make good use of them.

Recruitment Suwon Cultural Ambassadors for International Students




Suwon Cultural Foundation(SWCF) has recruited Suwon Cultural Ambassadors to promote Suwon’s culture, art and tourism by March 13.
The activities include visiting the UNESCO heritages Suwon Hwaseong Fortress and particiapting the Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival. Suwon Cultural Ambassadors can also experience traditional dietary life and traditional etiquette. After activities, Ambassadors register information related to Suwon in their native language at personal SNS platforms(including blog) and write tour reviews.  







International Students Currently attending universities within Korea and using SNS platforms can apply for Suwon Cultural Ambassadors.
Suwon Cultural Ambassadors receive a Suwon Hwaseong Fortress free pass and have lots of benefits to participate the tour, festival, and performance organized by SWCF for free. And Best Ambassador Awards will take place selecting the winner based on their activities.
