The 49th Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival opened by Korean Traditional Music performance ' Yongyeon's Dream' at 4th Oct.
This festival begin in earnest at 5th Oct, and there are traditional performances and various programs including traditional garments experience, rice cake making in the entire area of Hwaseong Haenggung.
In Hwaseong Haenggung, there were traditional ceremony announcing beginning of Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival. The king prepare tea by himself and perform ancestral rites. It was reenacted accurately hereunder.
This year, Citizens Parade becomes more various and plentiful. Through contest and award system, participation was activated spontaneously.
After citizen parade finished, King Jeongjo's procession has started. Unusually, King Jeongjo's procession was held at night time and light and sound effects made fantastic harmony.
King Jeongjo's procession entered to Hwaseong hanggung square and opening ceremony started.
